2021 | “Upcycle, No-Waste!”

Studio shoot
The Upcycle, No-Waste Collection is based on a series of methods designed to prevent waste. Anniq developed these methods during an art residency at Time Window, back in 2021. The research question was simple: What can I create from leftover fabrics?
Over the past few years, she has developed several approaches. In addition to patchwork squares, she created a new textile from even smaller fabric scraps, resulting in pieces such as the Confetti skirt, top and bra.
She also made Piñata Suits from fringes, fabric from amarant mixed with fibers and several layered fringes suits.
She is currently developing a new way of reusing leftover materials, old clothes, and fabrics that she receives from others.
2021 | “Concrete Collection”
Editorial shoot
Because of the pandemic, this collection had to be postponed, Therefore Annique Nahumury initially decided to call it the “Concrete Covid Collection”. The editorial shoot took place at a big junction, surrounded by a lot of concrete. This is because this collection represents a certain character: a young, urban, sportive individual. He/she/they can be found everywhere in, on and around concrete buildings, highways and junctions.
The designer her self cycles across this junction every day to get from here home to her studio. As it’s been said before, in the big city, people live in “concrete jungles”. Rotterdam in particular has a lot of concrete because it’s a very modern city since it was bombed during the war. Annique Nahumury got partly inspired by this city with his citizens. Sporty, casual, comfortable, minimalistic, sophisticated but certainly not boring.
2018 | "Black Hole"

Referring to Philo’s black belief, a project Annique did in 2013. For that project she built an installation which also was a costume. This installation was called “black hole”.
This 2018 collection, was a small street wear collection Ellen Korevaar and Annique Nahumury made together, just before Korevaar decided to leave the ship.
